Number 62 is making his Major League debut today for the St. Louis Cardinals pitching against the Chicago Cubs. He posted a 1.40 ERA in 12 Double-A starts before making his only Triple-A start where he went six scoreless inning giving up only two hits.

Looked like his career was progressing in 2019 with a sub 3 ERA and a WHIP around 1.000 in 12 starts, but man 1-9 with a six and half ERA last season.  Hard pass.  If anyone remembers the mound visits in EA Sports Earl Weaver Baseball (which was the original sim engine for the league WAY back in the day), this would how it would play out at this point in Luke’s career...

Earl:  “How’s the arm?”
Luke:  “Outta gas.”
Catcher:  “He’s in trouble.”
