Super excited to bring Brian Nutter over to Sapporo. If history is any indicator I’m going to need to gain as much ground now before an epic 2nd half collapse.

4-2 sim, and actually gained a game against Entebbe. 2-0 vs Vancouver, and 2-2 vs Entebbe.
In game 1 Ray Brown went 10.0 innings, allowing 4 hits, and striking out 11 for the CG win.
Rookie Quincy Bolden made his debut out of the bullpen last week, and this week rookie George Young will be making his debut.

Have to shout out George Cross in notching his 200th save. Cross was a 28 year old FA signing rookie for Amity in 2054, and went 0-2 with a 12.94 ERA in his rookie year. Since then, he has consistently been just good enough to contribute as a closer year in and year out for us. Though sometimes with poor results, and often replaced in high leverage games, he’s held down the role for more or less 13 straight seasons. He’s currently edging toward top 20 all time saves leaders, and he’s certainly one of our franchise’ most notable RPs.

I remember when that guy was absolute crap in Entebbe. I think he was my last cut to make room for prospects after the draft that year. Of course then he goes and drinks the water in Amity and here we are 200 saves later.

Great job by Stockholm last season handing Francisco Matthei his 2nd loss of the season. However, Entebbe's #2 starter Al Link made some great adjustments after struggling in the Weaver Series last season and starts the year 10-0 (no jinx). Zealots are also grateful to have Billy Reuss back from the DL for a critical 4-game set in Cairo. Billy was hitting the cover off the ball before his injury and will see time at DH in his return because in his absence, former ROY Logan Richter has performed admirably and deserves to stay in the lineup.
